God Knows What Time It Is – God’s Timing Is Not Ours
Psalm 31:15, AMP: “My times are in your hands…”
While I was praying one day this week, I started giggling. I giggled myself silly because I realized I am okay with where I am. I am okay in this moment, not dwelling on what is past and not worrying about the future. Yet I remember the things I’ve asked God for that haven’t come to pass yet. I know that God hasn’t forgotten about those desires either. The key is that I trust God to watch over the things that concern me.
In the meantime, my soul always longs to press into God’s presence. If I could, I’d never leave His feet. It makes me think of my mother’s dog, Gizmo. When she moves, he moves – always underfoot. Sometimes to the point of aggravating her, because he will not leave her side. But with God it’s not like that. I know my wanting to draw close to God is what He wants. Always and forever.
When I read this scripture, my soul let out a shout of worship. As a single, I used to drive myself crazy worrying that I was running out of time. But today I realized – when I read this scripture – that God knows exactly what time it is. He knows me, my heart and everything that concerns me. God’s timing may require me to grow my patience level, but I can feel in my spirit that it’s well worth the effort. I know anything involving God, period, is worth the effort. And I know my “times” are in His hands. Those things I feel in my spirit that haven’t manifested in the natural yet.
So today I commit to praying my way closer to the heart of God and closer to His promises. One day it will be my “time” and I do NOT want to miss a thing!
