You’ll Have What You Decide
Job 22: 28, AMP: “You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] shall shine upon your ways.”
I love the Message version too: “You’ll decide what you want and it will happen; your life will be bathed in light”.
It’s interesting how that works. You make a decision about something, and THEN it actually occurs in your life.
I think about the times in my life where confusion and chaos seemed to abound. At the root of it was my inability to make a decision that despite what was going on, I was going to remain grounded and unmoved. When I think about the times in my life where I was convinced that all *you know what* had just broken loose, yet I was unmoved…at the root was the decision that I was going to be okay and that God was going to get me through whatever it was – even if it was my fault.
So singles…your walk is largely determined by the decisions you make:
1) Will you be content or disgruntled?
2) Will you wait on God by actively preparing for a husband His way? Or will you take matters into your own hands?
3) Will you desire marriage for all the wrong reason? Or will you allow God to transform your desire and make it godly?
4) Will you refuse to let God change you into the wife for the man He has for you? Or will you be humble and let God have His way?
I know it’s not easy. But if you don’t give up, God’s blessing is waiting for you on the other side. I’m only speaking in faith too. I’m “still single” just like you. But God has such a proven track record of making a way in my life that I can tell you with confidence that what we are waiting for is already done. Just trust and ONLY believe.
If you want some inspiration, check out this interview with Dr. Geneva Turner. Her father made a decision at the age of 9 that 1) he was going to be a husband 2) he was going to be a father and 3) he was going to follow God’s lead on both.
Don’t doubt. ONLY believe…
