Philippians 1:6, NLT: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Today in church, the worship leader began to sing “He’s faithful to finish what He’s started in me”.

That encouraged me so much regarding my singles walk. So many times people give us – God’s singles – advice with the intention to encourage us, when they’re really discouraging us and planting seeds of doubt in our minds. “Well, not everyone will marry”, “Just be happy with where you are”, “Stop wanting to get married and then God will bless you with a husband”, “Just because His Word says He’ll give you the desires of your heart doesn’t mean He’ll give you a spouse”. I can go on and on. But I won’t because God’s Word says He will finish what He starts in me.

Today, I’m taking Him at His Word. I believe that God is faithful and that our faith in Him no matter what truly pleases Him. Do you want to be married and marry God’s way? Then believe that God didn’t forget about you and your desire and that He is faithful to finish what He’s started in YOU.
