Psalm 37:4, NLT: “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

I’ve heard several people say that this doesn’t apply to singles. The reasoning is that you don’t just delight yourself in God to get what you want – a husband/wife and family. But if this is a promise of God, why wouldn’t it work.

The Bible also tells us that God will withhold no good thing from those who walk upright. So my conclusion is that if you’re not married (provided you’re not standing in your own way for whatever reason), it could be that marriage is not a good thing for you right now. And don’t think it’s lost on me that it seems like only married and happily single people argue that singles who delight themselves in God shouldn’t expect a spouse.

Amazing.
