There’s Nothing More Attractive…

Than a man who worships and praises God.

1 Samuel 6:14, MSG “David, ceremonially dressed in priest’s linen, danced with great abandon before God.”

I’m not saying he has to dance like David did. I’m not saying he has to praise and worship God in a specific style. But a man who loves and reveres God and has no shame publicly worshipping him…THAT’S attractive.

I’ll tell you how I came up with that.

One Sunday night I was in church service (I was stationed in Djibouti, Africa at the time). The chaplain that was presiding over the service had us “sing in parts”. But he had the women sing first. Then the men sang. It was a sound I barely have words to describe. All that masculine energy lifted up in a way that was humbled but MANLY…well, let’s just say it got a response out of quite a few of the ladies!

And I think that’s perfectly normal and pleasing in God’s sight. I think so often we get caught up in how a man looks, what type of job he has, how he dresses…that we forget to consider the condition of his heart. We forget that he has a creator just like we do. So we may not think to ask or notice what his relationship with God is like. Praise and worship is one way to tell what his relationship with God is like. That doesn’t mean he won’t come with his own set of faults and mistakes (just like you). But if a man shows his love of God through praise and worship, pray that the other areas of his life will reflect that love as well.

“David replied to Michal, “In God’s presence I’ll dance all I want! … Oh yes, I’ll dance to God’s glory … I’ll gladly look like a fool”

As a Christian woman, a single woman, or as a woman who is chasing after your goals…what “does it for you” when it comes to finding a man attractive?
