(If you’re still single) Make this your best summer yet!
It’s July! I can hardly believe how fast this year has gone by. Either I’ve been having a good time or this scripture really does sum up how short life/time is “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom” (Psalm 90:12, NLT).
And my prayer for you is that you grow in wisdom in these short summer months. I asked God what He wants me to learn in this season (the summer of life). His answer was to focus on learning how to enjoy life while planting for the harvest (fall) and slow season (winter) of life. It’s so often that we want to forget about all rules, party and spend money we normally don’t during our summer season of life. But God has shown me that summer was designed for working hard and playing hard.
So have you been able to enjoy your summer yet? If not, here are some ideas of things you can do on your own or with family and friends:
Beach outings, movie nights in, camp fires, barbeques, picnics, pool parties, movies in the theater (I hear Transformers is pretty good), outdoor concerts, festivals, short cruises, and sitting on porches in the evening. These are just ideas but whatever you do, do it to really enjoy life and the people you share it with. You still have time to make this your best summer yet.
But make sure you think about the next season of life. Do you feel that maybe God is calling you to do something, but you just need to make the next step? What can you do this summer to start planning for it? What small steps can you take now to set things in motion? Plant and sow now to reap in your harvest (fall) and slow (winter) seasons.
In the meantime, if you want to connect to a community of single women and need a safe place to discuss your dating and relationship challenges, join the “Let’s Talk About It” Community. If you opt in below, you’ll get 50% off the first 3 months. The first community call will be Tuesday July 15 at 7pm.
